The Enphase Ensemble system provides an end-to-end AC-coupled solution with no high voltage DC batteries, using a simple plug-n-play distributed architecture that makes installation quick and easy. The Enphase Ensemble can be configured to support partial or whole home backup. The Enphase Enpower smart switch is used in the Ensemble system to streamline system installations by providing grid isolation and locations to connect Enphase Encharge batteries, the Enphase Combiner, and in the future, adding a generator, as needed. The Enpower smart switch includes a neutral-forming transformer, Microgrid Interconnect Device (MID), and an Eaton BR series busbar assembly that can support up to a 200A main breaker and is rated to 120/240 VAC. Circuit breakers are not included and need to be sourced and installed, configured to your specific installation. See table below.
The Encharge 3 all-in-one AC-coupled storage system provides a total usable energy capacity of 3.3kWh and four embedded grid-forming microinverters. It provides great flexibility in starting small and adding incremental capacity. The Encharge 3 outputs 120/240 VAC at 5.3A with a round trip efficiency of 89%. A maximum of up to three Encharge 3 battery units can fit on one 20A branch circuit. Each base unit includes a cover and a mounting bracket, and weights approximately 116lbs.
The Encharge 10 all-in-one AC-coupled storage system is comprised of three base Encharge 3 storage units and twelve embedded Enphase micro inverters to provide a total usable energy capacity of 10kWh. Connect multiple Encharge 10 storage systems to maximize backup potential for whole home backup. The combined weight of the unit including cover and mounting bracket weights approximately 346 lbs.
Commissioning and trouble shooting is simplified using the Enphase installer toolkit app from any smart phone. Note that when installing Enphase Encharge batteries as a retrofit application, they are only compatible with Enphase IQ series inverters and associated IQ components.
